Former Atletico Madrid and Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, who now plays for Istanbul Basaksehir, has received a suspended jail sentence of two years, eight months and 15 days after being found guilty of willful injury, carrying an unlicensed firearm and shooting in an urban area.
As reported by Marca, the verdict arises from an incident in October last year, when the Turkey international was involved in a nightclub brawl that resulted in a singer suffering a broken nose.

The 32-year-old then followed the man to hospital, where he fired his weapon into the ground after reportedly begging the man to shoot him and forgive him, as per the Daily Sabah.
Prosecutors had previously requested that Turan be jailed for 12 and a half years, but the court elected to hand down a lesser punishment as he had no previous convictions.
The sentence was also deferred for five years, which means the two-time LaLiga winner won't see the inside of a prison cell unless he offends again during that period.

Turan, who has made 100 international appearances for Turkey, was previously slapped with a 2.5 million Turkish lira (R6.3 million) fine by his club as a result of his indiscretions.
