The 16-year-old made his debut as a late substitute for Carles Perez during Barca's 5-2 win over Real Betis on Sunday, and in doing so, became the second-youngest player ever to feature for the club.
Things could have worked out differently for the Guinea Bissau-born forward, however, after his father revealed that they had received offers from at least two other clubs before Fati joined Barca in 2013, including approaches from LaLiga rivals Real.

"We were in Seville and Real Madrid offered me better conditions than Barca for my son. But we chose Barcelona because they came to my house with the contract and convinced me," Fati's father said, as per Marca.
"(Former Barcelona academy coach) Albert Puig came and told me that my son had to sign for Barcelona.
"... I had a Madrid offer of a lot of money, but Albert Puig came and told me that they were Barca and that they had a project, that in a few years I would see him there (in the first team). We know he works but we couldn't imagine that he would be playing with these beasts."
