In February, thieves broke into African and Barca star Kevin-Prince Boateng's rented home and made with off with prized possessions and cash valued at around £250 000 (R4.7 million) while the former Premier League star was competing in a clash against Real Valladolid.
In November 2018, Spain international Jordi Alba also had his house ransacked, during Barcelona's UEFA Champions League group game against Serie A giants Inter Milan, and now another player from the Blaugrana has suffered a similar fate.
Brazil star Arthur Melo, who joined the LaLiga outfit from Gremio in a deal worth €31 million (R504 million) in July 2018, has now had his house robbed, with a number of reports claiming that the 22-year-old's brother was threatened by the alleged machete-yielding thieves.
However, according to Spanish publication Marca, the midfielder's brother is unscathed as he was in attendance at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night.
According to the Daily Mail, the police are in search of two invaders who entered the house and made off with a number of valuable objects, including jewellery and a Rolex watch.
The former Gremio star, who was an unused substitute in Barca's midweek victory over the Reds, has made 41 appearances across all competitions for Ernesto Valverde's side this season.
