On Monday, reigning LaLiga champions Barcelona confirmed via their official website that former goalkeeper Victor Valdes had been relieved of his duties as head coach of the club's Juvenil A side, and that Franc Artiga would take his place.
"FC Barcelona has informed Víctor Valdes today that he is no longer coach of Juvenil A… Franc Artiga, until now coach of Juvenil B and in La Masia since 2010, becomes the coach of Juvenil A," an official statement read.
According to Marca, Valdes' sacking comes after a string of indiscretions by the Blaugrana legend, who made more than 500 appearances for the club during his playing career.

The Spanish publication reported that the 37-year-old had a fallout with the head of Barcelona's academy Patrick Kluivert after he refused to structure his side in the 4-3-3 formation employed throughout the club's various structures.
Valdes also reportedly upset the higher-ups after removing the U19s from the annual Otten Cup, pitching 30 minutes late for a UEFA Youth League match, and getting involved in "petty issues" with the club's press officer.
