There is a tremendous amount of ambiguity around the Citizens as a consequence of their financial fair play saga.
There are rumours manager Pep Guardiola could leave the club and that speculation seems to be causing a domino effect on some of his players' futures, one of them being Haaland.
The Norwegian is the Citizens' talisman, having scored 101 goals in the 108 games he has played since joining, but it seems Europe's top clubs still admire the prolific marksman and are looking to lure him away from the Etihad Stadium.
According to Sport, Barcelona is one of those teams, and are looking to make a marquee acquisition for when they reopen the Camp Nou after renovations are completed.

Barca president Joan Laport enjoyed a good relationship with Haaland's former agent Mino Raiola, but since his passing, the Barca executive has maintained good relations with the Scandinavian's new representative Rafaela Pimenta and is hoping she can help get the striker to Catalonia.

Laporta wants to sign Haaland in 2025 or 2026, with it believed the latter would be more conducive to Barca's finances as that is when Robert Lewandowski's contract expires; the Poland international is not only one of the club's highest earners but is also still at the top of his game.
