The 17-year-old has enjoyed an astonishing rise since making his debut for the Catalan giants in 2023 at 15 years old.
Following an impressive first season at the Blaugrana, Lamine Yamal helped lead Spain to the 2024 UEFA European Championship trophy with performances beyond his years.
Now one of Hansi Flick's key players, the winger has contributed to 10 goals in 11 matches this term, making him one of the world's most in-form players despite his age.
Speaking on Thursday, club president Joan Laporta confirmed the LALIGA giants received an offer worth €250 million six months ago, with reports suggesting the proposal came from Paris Saint-Germain.
"I was offered to buy Lamine Yamal for €250 million and I said no six months ago," he said, according to Barca Universal.
"What is Lamine worth now that he has also won a European Championship and is also the most popular player in the world?"
Had Barcelona accepted the offer and Lamine Yamal completed the move, the teenager would have become the most expensive footballer in history.

That tag still belongs to Brazil superstar Neymar, who joined PSG from the Catalans in 2017 for €222 million (R4.2 billion).
