UEFA Europa League Report: Bordeaux 1-1 Liverpool 17 September 2015

UEFA Europa League Result: Bordeaux 1-1 Liverpool Date: 17 September 2015 Venue: Stade Bordeaux-Atlantique Liverpool came away with a point in their UEFA Europa League clash at Bordeaux on Thursday night, drawing 1-1. The Reds had an early chance to take the lead when Adam Lallana squared the ball for Philippe Coutinho to fire a low shot at goal, but it went a few feet wide from 20 yards with the goalkeeper beaten. At the other end of the pitch the hosts had a chance of their own in the 11th minute. A long ball over the top found Rolan who tried to beat the onrushing Mignolet with a chipped shot but saw it fall on the roof of the net. The Uruguayan striker was in the thick of things again in the 41st minute when Saivet picked him out with a lofted pass. He controlled the ball well initially but sent his shot far over the intended target. Coutinho came agonisingly close for Brendan Rodgers' charges on the stroke of half-time. His powerful effort from 25 yards would have been a stunner of a goal but hit the post instead. The deadlock was broken in the 65th minute as the visitors hit the front. Moreno set it up nicely for Lallana who nutmegged Pablo before beating the goalkeeper with a low placed shot. However, Bordeaux responded in the 81st minute to equalise. Rolan played a ball into the box where Jussie pounced to provide the finish from 12 yards out.
