Besiktas claimed top spot in Group C after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in their final Europa League group game at the Ataturk Olimpiyat Stadium.
The game got off to a slow start and play had to be suspended in the seventh minute after the lights at the stadium shut down.
Play eventually got underway but the first meaningful effort of the half arrived in the 29th minute with Olcay Sahan placing an effort over the bar from 12-yards out.
That proved to be the best chance of the opening 45 minutes, as the sides went into the break level at 0-0.
Besiktas nearly opened the scoring in the 58th minute as Cednk Tosun's powerful effort from distance crashed onto the upright.
However, Tosun was not to be denied a minute later as Sahan teed up the striker, who made no mistake from three-yards out.
Spurs pushed on for the equaliser in the closing stages of the game, bringing on the likes of Erik Lamela and Aaron Lennon, but they could not create any clear-cut chances.
Both side were already through to the knockout round but the win sees the Turksih outfit claim top spot in the group and maintain their unbeaten run in the campaign.
