The latest transfer news in England claims Manchester City have agreed terms with a Brazil international valued at €65 million (R1.3 billion).
According to Foot Mercato, the treble champions are a step closer to signing West Ham United playmaker Lucas Paqueta.
The 26-year-old has impressed since joining the Hammers from Olympique Lyon in 2022, having contributed to 27 goals in 77 matches across all competitions.
Paqueta is also a regular for the Selecao, and needs only six more appearances to bring up a half century of caps for the five-time FIFA World Cup champions.
It is said the Citizens have reached an agreement with the footballer over personal terms, but it is not the first time Pep Guardiola has been in for the player.
The midfielder was expected to join City at the end of the previous campaign before reports emerged that the FA had opened an investigation into three yellow cards he picked up last year as part of a gambling probe.
Paqueta has reportedly denied any wrongdoing, although is still believed to be awaiting an outcome of the inspection into those incidents.
West Ham remain in a strong position considering his deal in London only expires in 2027.
