Despite effectively moving from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich during the previous off-season transfer window in pursuit of team trophies, Kane did not achieve any such success with the Bavarian giants in the latest campaign.
Instead, the 2023/24 season was highlighted by a common theme of his career so far, individual success.
Similar to how Bayer Leverkusen were able to win the Bundesliga in emphatic fashion, the England captain was also able to blow all the other top goalscorers across Europe's various first divisions out of the water.
The London native bagged 36 goals in the German top flight on his way to claiming European Golden Boot honours, becoming the second Englishman ever to accomplish this feat, and becomes only the third-ever Bundesliga player to win the prize after Gerd Muller and Robert Lewandowski.
The list of top goalscorers across Europe is dominated by European players, with the only star from Africa in the top 10 being Guinea international Serhou Guirassy.
Like Kane, Guirassy plies his trade in Germany's first division and his prowess in front of goal helped Stuttgart finish in their highest position in the Bundesliga, second, since they won the league in the 2006/07 season.

The 28-year-old managed to find the back of the net 28 times in the Bundesliga, and despite only signing for Die Schwaben permanently during the last off-season transfer window, he could already be on the move again in the upcoming window as he is rumoured to have a €17.5 million (R349 million) release clause in his contract. However, he may end up staying in Germany after all as it is believed Borussia Dortmund are the club leading the race for his signature.
While the Bundesliga may have three players in the top 10, the Premier League only has one, and his name is Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian was last season's recipient of the European Golden Boot after he scored a record 36 Premier League goals, but in 2023/24, the Scandinavian sensation was kept out by a stress reaction to the bone during the middle of the season. Regardless, the English-born striker still managed to score 27 league goals as he became the sixth player, after Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, Robin van Persie, Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer, to win successive golden boot titles in the Premier League era.

While Haaland is the lone representative from the list that plays in England, another league with a single player among the top 10 goalscorers in Europe is Ligue 1. The French top flight's Golden Boot winner was Kylian Mbappe as he also bagged 27 league goals to record his sixth top scorers title. While his goals helped Paris Saint-Germain win Ligue 1 honours, 2023/24 may have been his final season in the division as shortly after they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, the France captain announced that he would be leaving the club when his contract expires.
