According to the Daily Mail, 26-year-old Brentford forward Ivan Toney has been the subject of an investigation for seven months amid allegations that he has been gambling on football matches.
The report claims the player, who is contention to be called up to England's 2022 FIFA World Cup squad, placed bets on games before he joined the Bees in 2020, with the striker having acknowledged the enquiry from the Football Association in a recent Twitter post.

"I'm aware of a story about me in a national newspaper today," he wrote.
"I have been assisting the Football Association with their enquiries and will not be making any comment until such investigation has reached its conclusion.
"I am a proud Englishman and it has always been my childhood dream to play for my country at a World Cup finals."
Toney was called up to Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad in September for the first time, but is yet to make an appearance for England ahead of the World Cup announcement this week.
