According to the Daily Mail, the Citizens will not stand in the way of Aymeric Laporte leaving should he wish to move on once the season concludes.
With the French-born centre-back having been used sparingly by his manager this season, the 28-year-old is becoming increasingly frustrated with his lack of minutes.
The Spain international has played an integral role in City's success since joining from Athletic Bilbao for €65 million (R1.2 billion) in 2018, but in this campaign has managed to play in only 17 games in all competitions, starting 15 of them, as he found it hard to nail down a starting position in the team with the emergence of new arrival Manuel Akanji.
Laporte's stance could see him join the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, who left the Etihad last season in search of game time at Arsenal, while Raheem Sterling also called time on his City career at the beginning of the season to go join Chelsea.
The Manchester club had no problem letting these players go, and the central defender will reportedly be treated in the same manner.
