Osimhen's Premier League Transfer Preference 'Revealed'

Osimhen's Premier League Transfer Preference 'Revealed'

With Nigeria star Victor Osimhen heavily linked with a move to the Premier League at the end of the season, the marksman's preferred destination in England has reportedly been revealed.

The 24-year-old's contract with Napoli will have 12 months on it come the beginning of next season, and with negotiations over a new deal seemingly at a standstill, reports continue to link the prolific striker with a move to England's top division.

The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all rumoured to be seriously interested in the Lagos native as they look to take their respective teams to another level.

The Gunners do, however, have Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah who have showed they can spearhead a title-challenging side, and while their north London rivals did lose their talisman Harry Kane in the previous transfer window, Spurs have enjoyed their best-ever start to a league season under Ange Postecoglou this campaign.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have not fared as well as their crosstown rivals as they languish in 10th place, having only scored 21 goals in the league.

Osimhen finished as Serie A's top goalscorer last season, and according to Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella, he is likelier to take his goalscoring exploits to Stamford Bridge over the homes of either the Gunners or the Lilywhites.

"It's a bad market for strikers in January, and Osimhen is the striker that everyone wants. There's no point in getting another young one now," he told the London is Blue podcast.

"He'd be a great fit, and Chelsea like him. Osimhen likes Chelsea, I had the information for a little while. He's always loved Chelsea, loved [Didier] Drogba. They've got some similarities.

"He'd be interested in Manchester United, but they're not going to sign a striker. It's basically Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs competing in the battleground, and Osimhen would probably pick Chelsea out of the three."
