The Reds are the one team in the English top flight not to have made a purchase so far in this transfer window.
The 19-time league champions were close to signing Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad earlier on during the window, but the Basque native ultimately decided against making the move to Anfield.
However, the Merseysiders are said to now be on the brink of signing yet another player from LALIGA.
According to TeamTalk, the English outfit is close to completing a transfer for Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.
The plan for the six-time European champions is to buy the Georgian and immediately loan him back to Valencia as they have Alisson Becker still occupying their No. 1 spot.
As per transfer expert Fabrizo Romano, the fee for the 23-year-old is poised to be £30 million (R707 million), and he is set to only join the Liverpool squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
While the club has not been active with regards to bringing in players, they have been with regards to outgoings.
So far in this transfer window, they have let both Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara leave as free agents, while loaning out Calvin Ramsay and Rhys Williams to Wigan and Morecambe FC, respectively.
