A first-half goal from Erling Haaland put the Citizens ahead at the Etihad Stadium before Trent Alexander-Arnold equalised 10 minutes before regulation time to secure a point for the away side.
Guardiola, speaking post-match, suggested he was not entirely pleased with certain refereeing decisions in the game, although a lot of the reaction to the game focused on his verbal spat with Liverpool's Darwin Nunez at full-time.
As the whistle blew, the Spaniard was seen shaking hands with Jurgen Klopp before the Uruguayan walked over to him, leading to a seemingly heated exchanging of words. Klopp, however, was close enough to the action to intervene.
The German attempted to play down the incident afterwards, insisting he was the "wrong person to ask" about what happened after the final whistle, while Guardiola has appeared to do the same.
"He is stronger than me! Listen, nothing happened," he told Sky Sports.
"It wasn't frustration (at the performance), I'm really pleased. So, the second question in the press conference, you ask about that?
"Maybe for the last question you ask about Pep Guardiola and Darwin Nunez but nothing happened!
"I am incredibly pleased for the performance we played because we know how tough they are."
