Sergio Ramos – Unwanted in Paris
The Spaniard parted ways with Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent at the end of June after representing the French giants for just two campaigns. While his debut season was largely disrupted, mainly due to injuries, the legendary centre-back found consistent form last term as he made 45 appearances across all competitions. Ramos is still unattached, but the conversation surrounding the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner hasn't gone totally quiet. The 37-year-old was linked with ex-club Sevilla earlier in the window, while clubs in Saudi Arabia were also believed to have expressed an interest in his signature. The latest team to emerge as a possible destination were Turkish giants Besiktas, who issued a statement this week to state that a disagreement over finances forced their negotiations with the player to end.
David de Gea – Ditched by Man Utd
Since leaving Manchester United in a baffling manner, the 32-year-old is still on the hunt for a new home. The goalkeeper was harshly kicked to the curb by the Red Devils in July, almost exactly a week after his contract at the club expired in June. De Gea was expected to sign a new deal at the 20-time English champions until rumours suggested Erik ten Hag was, behind the scenes, pushing for the signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan. Soon after the Cameroonian arrived, De Gea was tipped to become Inter's new No. 1 in Italy, while he was later linked with Bayern Munich. Real Madrid were then said to be interested following Thibaut Courtois' injury, but no deal for the shot-stopper appears to be close to materialising.
Jesse Lingard – Making amends in London
Many criticised the ex-United midfielder's decision to snub interest from West Ham United for Nottingham Forest last year, accusing the 32-time England international of choosing to join the Tricky Trees due to the money the club offered him on a short-term deal, but it seems a permanent move to the Hammers could still be on the cards. Lingard has been spotted training with the London club, whom he joined on loan from the Red Devils in 2021 and scored nine goals in just 16 matches for them. It seems David Moyes and his coaching staff have not yet landed on a decision in terms of offering the player a contract, but first-team coach Kevin Nolan did recently say he believes things are heading in that direction.

Eden Hazard – Would any top team want him?
While most football fans remember Hazard for his dazzling performances in the blue of Chelsea, clubs looking to do some last-minute business will need to look closely at his horrid spell at Real Madrid should they find themselves pondering a move for Belgium's former captain. Amazingly, the ex-Premier League winger scored just seven goals in the 76 appearances he made for the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners, and was regularly on the end of backlash from fans in Madrid who believed he wasn't disciplined enough to be turning out for one of football's most legendary clubs. Since bidding farewell to Real, Hazard has been linked with teams in Saudi Arabia and the MLS, while recent rumours have suggested he could potentially head back to Belgium.
