Real Madrid legend, Zinedine Zidane, has turned up the heat before the El Clasico and revealed Los Blancos club didn't want Luis Suarez.
Suarez joined Barcelona for £75 million this summer and it was suggested that Real were also interested in the Uruguayan but Zidane such reports.
"There are always reports linking the big players with Real Madrid, but we had no contact with Liverpool regarding Suarez in the summer - he is not a player that we felt we needed," he said as quoted by DailyMail.
"When Real Madrid want a player we work very hard to get the transfer done, but it was not a player we wanted."
Zidane, who works as coach of Real Madrid's B-side this season, admitted that Suarez is great player but insisted Real only bought players they really needed.
"He (Suarez) is obviously a very good player, but it was not a player we feel we needed to add to the squad," he added.
"The players we acquired in the summer were exactly the players we wanted."
Suarez is set to make his Barcelona debut in the El Clasico at the Bernabeu on Saturday, having served his four-month ban from football.
