Sunday's El Clasico sees a clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona's power tridents. Which team's front three is the best? Soccer Laduma gives you the chance to decide.
'Ronaldo-Messi Debate Is Like Comparing A Ferrari To A Lamborghini'
In the epic clash between these two Spanish giants, a clash between two of the biggest football clubs in the world takes centre stage. However, as always, El Clasico contains numerous sub-plots. The Ronaldo-Messi debate is one of the most prominent from recent years.
But a new sub-plot has come to light in the latest edition of this rivalry. Who has the best attaching trio? Is it Real Madrid's Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo (BBC) or Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar (MSN)?
In the first half of the season, Real Madrid's brilliance was personified by their front three, which was firing on all cylinders as the club sealed the UEFA Supercup, the Club World Cup and top spot in La Liga by the time 2014 came to an end.
However, the BBC has shown signs of burning out in 2015 and they have gone from scoring 2.41 goals per game, in the first half of the season, to 1.3 goals per game in 2015.
'Ronaldo Is At The End Of His Career'
Barcelona, on the other hand, had a disappointing 2014 as they're attacking trio struggled to combined. The MSN combination scored 0.77 goals per game in the first half of the season. But, since the turn of the year, they're average now stands at 2.42 goals per game. It would seem that the roles have been reversed as Barcelona now occupy first place in La Liga and are still on course to complete a treble-winning season.
Furthermore, Barcelona's front three are creating more goals, with an average of 1.41 assists per game in 2015, compared to Madrid's 0.44 assists per game in the same period.
The statistics are stacked heavily in Barcelona's favour, if form is taken into account. However, form is temporary and class is permanent. Football is a game where nothing can be decided on paper.
There is no doubting the class of Madrid's front three, and on their day, the BBC can be just as unstoppable as Barcelona's MSN.
