Starting XI: Real Madrid v FC Barcelona

Starting XI: Real Madrid v FC Barcelona

Real Madrid take on Barcelona in the latest instalment of El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeau.

Los Blancos will be looking to close the gap at the top of La Liga to one point with a victory at the Bernabeau after winning their previous seven consecutive matches. Barcelona, meanwhile, are still undefeated in the current La Liga campaign, winning seven games and drawing one.

The Blaugrana currently boast the best defence in Spain with not a single goal conceded in their opening eight games, while Madrid boast the best attack with 30 goals scored at an average of nearly four a game.

Gareth Bale, Jesé Rodriguez and Fabio Coentrao are all out of the game with injuries, while Sergio Ramos is a doubt and Barcelona will be missing the services of Thomas Vermaelen and Adriano, with Douglas and Rafinha also doubtful.

Madrid have won 30 of their last 34 matches in La Liga and will be hoping for a positive result, but with Barcelona winning seven of their last eight matches in the League, they will be fearful of the very serious threat posed by the Catalans.

With Neymar, Messi and Dani Alves all in fine form for the Blaugrana and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodrigues and Toni Kroos all in excellent form as well, the match may be decided by whoever has the strongest defence.

Real Madrid's defenders will need to improve on their early season form to keep Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Barcelona debutant, Luis Suarez, at bay and provide the platform for a much needed win that could dictate the fate of this seasons title race.

Expect many goal scoring opportunities to be created at both ends of the pitch, and get ready for the most anticipated match of the season so far.

Here's how they line up:

Real Madrid: Casillas, Pepe, Ramos, Ronaldo, Kroos, Benzema, James, Marcelo, Carvajal, Modric, Isco

FC BarcelonaBravo; Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Mathieu, Xavi, Busquets, Neymar, Iniesta, Messi, Suarez
