FC Barcelona forward, Luis Suarez, has insisted his teammate Lionel Messi is better than Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 26-year-old, who is set to make his Barcelona debut in the El Clasico on Saturday, joined the debate around the two superstars after his old club Liverpool is set to face Ronaldo in the Champions League.
"In my opinion Leo is better. I train and play with Leo every day and he surprises me every day. He is unique," Suarez told reporters.
"Everybody knows what he has brought to Barcelona, what kind of world-class player he is.
"For me he is the best player in the world for what he has already done, and he's still so young."
Messi has started his La Liga campaign with seven goals and nine assists, while Ronaldo has racked up 15 goals and three assists.
Both superstars are set to meet in the upcoming El Clasico, which is likely to be Suarez's first official game for Barcelona.
