Barcelona have been working around the clock to try make sure the Uruguayan is fully fit for next weekend's El Clasico, which will be his first competitive league outing in 4 months after successfully serving a suspension for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.
Suarez's return hasn't officially arrived, yet we have already seen a campaign launched against him to try play down the striker's threat in front of goals.
The reports all started when a Madrid-based television channel called Suarez 'overweight' and accused the Uruguayan of looking like an 'ex-footballer' in a bulletin.
Under the watchful eye of the Catalans fitness coach Juanjo Brau Suarez, The striker has been building up his fitness since July but was forced to do so far from the club's training facility. Now with the ban lifted Suarez is able to replace the gym for the ever so complex training sessions lead coach Luis Enrique
FC Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique, has insisted that his suspended striker Luis Suarez is not overweight.
"Suarez, fat? He is a naturally stocky player. He is at his ideal weight and he is ready to compete. If you want we'll give him liposuction but I don't think he needs it."
Suarez, backed up his manger's comments at the Golden Shoe ceremony earlier this week adding, "I can say that I'm in tip-top condition."
Suarez has played a total of 148 minutes in Uruguay's two recent friendlies, where he managed to score two goals and assisted in another.
