FC Barcelona will host Real Madrid in El Clasico on Wednesday night, but their preparations were reportedly disrupted when one of their stars stormed out of training after learning that he would not start the match.
On Tuesday, Barca midfielder Arturo Vidal reportedly stormed out of a training session after being informed by coach Ernesto Valverde that he would not be starting against Real.
That is according to ESPN, who reported that the Chile midfielder ordinarily takes part in a post-training shooting session with a number of teammates, but left when informed that he was not going to be named in the starting XI for the spectacle.
Teammates reportedly attempted to comfort the former Bayern Munich and Juventus star, but he was left furious at the latest snub.
Vidal has been strongly linked with a move away from Barca, with Inter Milan mooted as a possible destination, and Barca officials are now said to be concerned that he may attempt to force an exit in the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old joined the Blaugrana from Bayern in 2018, and has scored seven goals in 70 appearances for the club since.
