With his latest ban by FIFA, Luis Suarez has now been suspended for 47 games since 2010 without actually receiving a red card.
He always threatened to be a unique footballer, and that record will surely never be beaten. No referee saw Suarez's actions or decided to punish them in game play.
However, his three bites weren't remotely threatening the future of his opponents, he wasn't attempting to break their leg or tear the ligaments of them.
What he was doing was the equivalent of slapping or spitting at a player, utterly disgraceful behaviour and what makes it so shocking is that he did it three times already. Never mind the allegedly racial abuse and his crazy moments.
Which makes us think, will he ever learn or is his next controversial outbreak only a matter of time?
That's is why FIFA was right to hand out the severe ban of four months from football and nine international games - they had to set a precedent, they had to set boundaries for Suarez.
So far, his teammates or coaches have always defended him against his actions. First Kenny Dalglish at Liverpool then the Uruguay coaching staff at World Cup.
But, if he would bite another player again or be involved in a similar controversy, Barcelona's bosses wouldn't jump on his side and it could threaten his career.
All eyes will be on him in future and many hope that he can finally prove that his sheer talent can overcome the madness deep inside.
