During the early 2000's, players were often traded between Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, this has now changed as both sides continue to fight for dominance in Spain.
Here are four double agents that have played in El Clasico:
Michael Laudrup - Barcelona to Madrid, 1994
Laudrup started off by playing for Barcelona before making the move to Los Blancos in 1994. The Denmark international left the Catalan giants after winning four successive league titles and a European Cup. Laudrup managed to win La Liga in his first season at Real Madrid and that made him the first player to ever win five Spanish titles in a row.
Luis Enrique - Madrid to Barcelona, 1996
The current Barcelona manager played for Real Madrid for five years before making the move to his current club. He saw out his contract before shocking the Spanish football world by moving on a free transfer to the Camp Nou. Barca fans were reluctant to welcome the attacker as one of their own, but he became a legend, helping them to win two La Liga titles and two Copa del Rey crowns
Luis Figo - Barcelona to Madrid, 2000
Figo was real cult hero following his arrival at Barcelona in 1995, as he played a key role in seven trophy wins. That all was forgotten in 2000 when he left for Madrid in what was a reported deal worth around £45 million. The Portuguese winger won two league titles with Madrid, as well as the Champions League. However, he always felt the hatred of Blaugrana fans and once even a pig head was thrown in his direction as he tried to take a corner kick for Los Blancos.
Ronaldo – Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid 2002
Ronaldo Da Lima doesn't quite have the same story as the three before him, but he did end up playing for both sides. The Brazilian played one season at Barcelona, where he showed his real potential, before being sold to Inter Milan. Four years later he made the move back to Spain and signed for Real Madrid, where he won three trophies. He is the only player in history to score for both rivals in El Clasico.
