Barcelona president, Josep María Bartomeu, admits Lionel Messi's new all-time record will be difficult to beat.
The Argentine currently just sits one goal behind Telmo Zarra's 251 and could break the record at the Santiago Bernabéu, where the first El Clásico of the season is being played.
Bartomeu, insists that it's important for club that Messi overcomes the record and thinks it will be tough for anyone to replicate.
"Messi is having a great season and today he didn't score more because Eibar's keeper was great," he told Marca.
"He'll beat the record though and then it will be difficult for anyone to beat him afterwards."
Bartomeu, also revealed that he is excited to see Luis Suarez's return to action after successfully serving his ban for biting at the World Cup.
"I don't know if he'll start or not, that's a question for Luis Enrique. He'll decide, but the good thing is knowing he's available," he added.
Messi is the first footballer ever to score consecutively against all teams in La Liga and is currently sitting on 250 league goals.
