Paraguay came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw with Argentina in their opening Copa America tie on Saturday night.
Argentina dominated the opening exchanges and were camped in the opposition half, although they struggled to bypass the Paraguay defence.
The deadlock was nearly broken in the 18th minute when Lionel Messi attempted to turn home Javier Mascherano's low shot, but the skipper's shot sailed inches wide of the upright.
Argentina eventually opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Sergio Aguero pounced on a sloppy back-pass, before rounding Antony Domingo Silva to slot into an empty net.
Gerardi Martino's side doubled their in the 33rd minute from the penalty spot, after Angel di Maria had been brought down in the area, and Messi stepped to convert from 12-yards out.
Paraguay had their first meaningful opening in the 59th minute when Nelson Valdez forced Sergio Romero into a fine save from the edge of the area.
However, Nelson was not to be denied a minute later, as the Paraguayan striker curled home a sublime effort from 25-yards out.
Silva came to Paraguay's rescue in the 67th minute, as he pulled off a fine save to keep out Javier Pastore's stinging effort from 12-yards out.
Martino introduce Carlos Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain in the final 15 minutes in the hope of bagging another goal to secure the win.
However, it was Di Maria who went close in the 77th minute as his powerful effort from a tight angle forced Silva into another fine save.
Paraguay managed to stun the Argentinians in the 90th minute, when Lucas Barrios got on the end of a knockdown, before drilling a low effort into the bottom corner to ensure both sides earn a share of the spoils.
