The 33-year-old was originally snubbed by Dunga, who announced his 23-man Copa America squad last week, but was added to the preliminary team on Tuesday.
Kaka has made two appearances under Dunga, but wasn't included in his Selecao squad for the last four games.
He also missed the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, when Luiz Felipe Scolari omitted him from the squad - but recently revealed he dreams of featuring in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Kaka has scored four goals and assisted another four in 14 games for Orlando City in the Major Soccer League, but scored his last Brazil goal back in October 2012.
The Brazil legend is joined by Lazio's Felipe Anderson and FC Barcelona midfielder Rafael Alcantara.
Goalkeeper Neto (Fiorentina), defender Gil (Corinthians), midfielder Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk) – not the Brazil striker who featured at the World Cup – and forward Leandro Damião (Cruzeiro) are the other four players added to Dunga's squad.
However, given the fact that the Selecao boss originally announced his 23-man Copa America squad, it remains to be seen whether any of the seven additions will replace one of the players in his original list when the time comes to confirm his selection for the tournament.
