The Red Devils broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Casemiro made it two goals in two games with a wonderful strike from distance that sailed into the top corner.
The lead was doubled just over ten minutes later when Diogo Dalot broke the offside trap and picked out Alejandro Garnacho who calmly slotted home from close range.
There was a lively finish to the first half as Bilal El Khannouss and Conor Coady pulled two back for Leicester, before goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro made it 4-2 before the break.

Manchester City bowed out of the tournament after losing 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
Spurs raced into a two-goal lead in the first half courtesy of a fifth minute strike from Timo Werner before Pape Sarr doubled the lead with a lovely strike on 25 minutes.
Matheus Nunes pulled one back for the Citizens on the stroke of halftime, but they were unable to pull themselves level.
Preston North End 0-3 Arsenal
Arsenal cruised to the next round of the League Cup with a 3-0 victory over Preston North End at Deepdale.
Gabriel Jesus put the Gunners ahead on 24 minutes before Ethan Nwaneri doubled the lead just under ten minutes later.
The Gunners did get a third goal just before the hour mark, with Kai Havertz getting his name on the score-sheet.
Brighton Hove Albion 2-3 Liverpool
Liverpool advanced to the next round with a 3-2 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Simon Adingra pulled one back for Brighton in the 81st minute but Luis Diaz restored the two-goal advantage four minutes later.
Tariq Lamptey did reduce the deficit again for Brighton in the 90th minute, but the Reds did enough to hold on for the win.
Newcastle United 2-0 Chelsea
Chelsea crashed out of the Carabao Cup after losing 2-0 to Newcastle United at St Jame's Park.
The home side broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute as Aleksander Isak pounced on Chelsea's failure to play out from the back and fired home from close range.
The lead was doubled three minutes later when Blues defender Axel Disasi deflected the ball into his own net.
