Nagelsmann: Why Mane Is Back To His Best At Bayern

Nagelsmann: Why Mane Is Back To His Best At Bayern

Sadio Mane is back among the goals, and having seemingly found his feet at Bayern Munich, head coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed why the 2022 Ballon d'Or runner up has returned to his best form.

Liverpool Legend Slams Reds: They're Being Bullied!

Having called time on his six-year stint at Liverpool this past off-season, Mane arrived at the Allianz Arena with a massive reputation, and the enormity of the expectations that were placed on the Senegalese grew when club icon Robert Lewandowski departed for Barcelona.

While the 30-year-old recently suffered a slight dip in form, the attacker seems to have finally found his shooting boots in Bavaria.

During Bayern's 6-2 win over Mainz this past Saturday, Mane scored just before the half-time break to become the club's top goalscorer so far this season with his 11th strike in all competitions, moving ahead of both Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala.

Following Die Roten's emphatic victory, Nagelsmann explained why the Bayern faithful are now getting to see the form Mane displayed so regularly during his time at Anfield.

"I'm happy with Sadio Mane's performance. The development of the past two weeks was good because of his position," the 35-year-old said, as per the Daily Mirror.

"He plays more on the wing where he played at Liverpool before.

"He did well today, like he did in Barcelona and hopefully will continue this way."

The six-time European champions are now trailing leaders Union Berlin by only one point in the league, and with Mane getting closer to his best form, the record Bundesliga winners will likely be applying immense pressure to reclaim top spot.

The reigning CAF African Player of the Year himself has admitted he is not pleased with his recent performances, and insisted he can do better.

Mane List His Favourites For The FIFA World Cup

"I'm still not 100% happy with myself. I can do more," Mane said after the game.
