The Argentine won the award a record-breaking fifth time, receiving 41.33% of the votes, while Ronaldo and Neymar followed with 27.76% and 7.86%, respectively.
Messi voted for Luis Suarez in first place, Neymar in second and Andres Iniesta in third – all of whom are FC Barcelona teammates of his.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, chose Real Madrid teammates only and went for Karim Benzema in first position, ahead of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale.
Neymar also chose Blaugrana teammates only, voting for Messi, Suarez and Ivan Rakitic.
