Tanzanian Premier League champions Young Africans have announced that they plan on preparing for the 2024/25 campaign in South Africa.
This marks a landmark occasion for the east African outfit as it will be a shift away from their traditional preparations in Avic Town.
Yanga enjoyed a historic 2023/24 season with head coach Miguel Gamondi, achieving a record points tally in a 30-game Tanzanian Premier League season (80 points) and also reaching their first CAF Champions League quarter-final berth in over five decades.

In the continental competition, they were eventually beaten by DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns via penalties, but in a bid to outdo their performance on the biggest African club stage, the Vijana Stars have decided to take a different approach to their pre-season groundwork.
Ally Kamwe, Yanga's information officer, confirmed the news by expressing his optimism at travelling to South Africa.
"This time we are coming differently from previous seasons. We expect to camp in South Africa, at the invitation of various clubs, and we have to go to Kenya for the opening of a stadium in Kisumu," Kamwe said, as per The Guardian.
"... We believe it will be a good pre-season because we will have friendly matches with great competition to prepare for the 2024/25 season."
