After an erratic start to life in the Botola Pro, the 38-year-old head coach seems to have found his footing in the Moroccan top flight.
The Red Castle currently occupy second position on the league table, the final automatic qualification spot for next season's CAF Champions League. With the Johannesburg native recently stating that qualifying for Africa's premier club competition is their next target, the final seven games of the league season will be imperative.
Up next for the Casablanca-based outfit is an encounter against FUS Rabat. However, the former Orlando Pirates boss will be without the services of the league's top goalscorer, Mohamed Rayhi.
Like Mokwena, Rayhi arrived at Wydad at the start of the season and had a stuttering start to life with the three-time African champions. However, since November, the Dutch-born attacker has been in fine form and now has nine goals in 20 matches in the top flight, making him the league's top goalscorer.
The Eindhoven-born forward will now miss their next league match due to accumulating too many yellow cards, but according to Kooora, Mokwena is now struggling to decide who he is going to pair Mailula with for their Monday evening encounter.
