Earlier this week, it was reported that the former Orlando Pirates head coach requested for the Serbian's condition to be assessed ahead of their friendly against Al Sadd in Qatar.
The 31-year-old has not played football since the beginning of 2023 after being let go by Royal AM, and consequently, the north African outfit have been keen to witness his fitness levels.
A source close to the situation has now confirmed that should the club be pleased with the forward's conditioning, the Tutin native will be the newest addition to Raja's attack.
The three-time CAF Champions League winners are set to face off against record Qatari champions Al Sadd as they prepare for the Arab Cup in Saudi Arabia, and in an effort to judge his readiness, Nurkovic will receive playing time in that game.
It is unclear if he will start or come off the bench, but it has been established that the former DStv Premiership marksman will receive a significant amount of minutes during the encounter.

Soccer Laduma has also been informed that while the target man is of serious interest to the 13-time Botola Pro champions, his preference would be to stay in South Africa.
The player has spent the past four years of his career plying his trade in Johannesburg and Durban, and is keen to continue in Mzansi's top flight. There have been rumours Cape Town City are eager to sign him, but as things stand, it appears that Raja are in pole position for the striker's signature.
