It seems the two-time CAF Men's Player of the Year is nearing an exit from the Knights of Najd.
The 32-year-old has often faced criticism from fans and pundits in Saudi Arabia regarding his attacking output and performances, and it would seem that the Gulf giants share the same sentiment as they are reportedly willing to part ways with him.
It recent days, Senegal's all-time top goalscorer has been linked with a move to Al Ittihad, with the Tigers said to be interested in a season-long loan.
It is understood that Karim Benzema, captain of the nine-time Saudi champions, recommended that the club sign Mane to help them compete for the league trophy after a disastrous title defence last season.
Al Nassr are looking to complete the move, but according to Al Riyadhiyah, Laurent Blanc's side are only willing to take on €5 million (R99.8 million) of the winger's €40 million (R798 million) annual salary.
Furthermore, the same report states that because Mane falls under the Saudi Public Investment Fund recruitment plan, if he is loaned out, the PIF will not cover his wages, so the Riyadh-based side would have to take on that responsibility.
