Yanga will be making their first appearance in the last eight of Africa's premier club competition for the first time in 54 years after they qualified from Group D.
In the first round of the knockout phase, they will be coming up against a force on the continent in Rulani Mokwena's charges.
The east African giants came close to lifting continental silverware last season when they made it to the final of the CAF Confederations Cup, unfortunately for them they were defeated by Algerian side USM Alger.
This season they have another opportunity at winning in Africa, this time on a much bigger stage. They will be aiming to become the first Tanzanian team to win the Champions League, but standing in their way are a Masandawana side that have won six successive DStv Premiership titles.
However, their president Said believes this team have a chance to cause a massive upset and has called for fans of Wananchi to come in their numbers for the home leg in order to give the team the best possible chance of progression.
"For us, Young Africans, as a club, this is historic to be in the quarterfinal and advancing to the semifinal," the club chief said, as per CGTN Africa.
"We need members and fans of our club to come out in numbers and support the team during the home leg that will begin here.
