The 60-year-old has officially ventured back to the Gulf, having been confirmed as Esteghlal FC's newest manager this past weekend.
The Kagiso native was previously in charge of Abha Club in the Saudi Pro League during the 2023/24 campaign, but left at the end of the season.
Mosimane had joined Abha in the midst of a relegation fight, and he has now taken the reins at the Capital Blues following an erratic start to their campaign.
In the club's opening seven matches in the league this season, they have won two games, drawn two and lost three, and will be hoping the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly boss can stabilise their form and help them ascend the Persian Gulf Pro League standings.
According to Shafaqna Sports, to do this, three-time CAF Champions League winner Mosimane has requested that the club sign a striker before their transfer window closes.
The same report suggests that the former Bafana Bafana head coach has given the Esteghlal chiefs a shortlist of potential forwards they could sign.
