Currently without a club, former Troyes and Lille forward Lebo Mothiba has suffered three long-term injuries that have caused him to miss a lot of football since the 2020/21 campaign.
Mothiba, 28, last played for Strasbourg in France, but is currently a free agent after leaving the side at the end of his contract earlier this year.
A friend of his, Kristian Wilson, who was part of the coaching staff at Strasbourg, seemed to arrange a supportive message from Balotelli for Mothiba in a video the South African posted on his Instagram account on Monday.
In his caption, Mothiba recalled idolising Balotelli as a child, and said the kind words from the iconic Italian striker meant more than anybody could imagine.
"Lebo, good luck. I know that you are injured," he said.
"I'm sure you're going to recover well, and good luck. Good luck for the season and good luck for your career!"
Mothiba has spent his entire professional career in France, having scored 44 goals for four different clubs.
