The Red Devils are still yet to achieve victory in South Africa, as their 16th attempt at winning a game in the country ended in a draw this past weekend.
They left Orlando Stadium with a valuable point following their 0-0 encounter.
The Egyptian giants offered very little attacking threat during the contest, but their inability to test Sipho Chaine was perhaps offset by the fact that they also successfully nullified the Sea Robbers, as Jose Riveiro's charges also failed to score.
A former Ahly and Egypt international seems to have been unhappy with how the record African champions utilised their moments in the final third.
Magdy Abdelghany, who played as many as 93 matches for the Pharaohs, according to Transfermarkt, has questioned why the north African side's No. 10 started from the bench.
There has been much speculation about Tau's future in the Egyptian capital in recent months, with rumours circulating that he is no longer in Koller's plans.
However, Abdelghany has suggested that the Bafana Bafana star starting would have likely proven more impactful in their ambition to win the match.
"Percy Tau is one of the fastest Al Ahly players, so why was he on the bench in the match against the South African champion?" the Cairo native said on MBC Masr.
