Uganda 1-0 South Sudan
Uganda took a step closer to qualifying after edging South Sudan 1-0 at Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.
After a goalless first stanza, Bevis Mugabi scored the all important goal for the Cranes two minutes from the break.
Paul Put's charges remained at the top of Group K with seven points, although they are equal on points with Bafana Bafana.
South Sudan remained at the bottom of the group after their third successive defeat and are on the brink of elimination.
Nigeria 1-0 Libya
Nigeria maintained their top spot in Group D after a narrow 1-0 win over Libya at Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
The sides went to the break goalless and it took a goal from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru three minutes before time to hand the Super Eagles maximum points.
Nigeria topped the table by just one point while The Mediterranean Knights remained with only one point at the bottom of the section.
Egypt 2-0 Mauritania
Egypt maintained their winning start in Group C after beating Mauritania 2-0 at Cairo International Stadium.
Following a first stanza without goals, Trezeguet eventually broke the deadlock for the Pharaohs with 21 minutes remaining and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah wrapped up the game with the second goal 11 minutes before time.
Egypt, on the brink of qualification, topped the table by six points while Mauritania remained at the bottom with three points, although they are equal on points with Cape Verde and Botswana in the same section.
Cote d'Ivoire 4-1 Sierra Leone
Cote d'Ivoire extended their perfect start in Group G and got closer to qualifying after thrashing Sierra Leone 4-1 courtesy of a brace by Franck Kessie at Stade Laurent Pokou.
Nicolas Pepe gave Ivory Coast the lead within the first three minutes and Kessie should have doubled their lead eight minutes before the break from the penalty spot but missed his spot-kick.
Alhassan Koroma eventually levelled matters for Sierra Leone just before the half-time break. However, Kessie restored the lead for The Elephants early in the second stanza, made it 3-1 for the hosts and got his brace 15 minutes before time.
Oumar Diakite made it 4-0 for Cote d'Ivoire in the dying minutes.
Senegal 4-0 Malawi
Senegal got back to winning ways in Group L after drubbing ten-man Malawi 4-0 at Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade
Malawi started on the back foot after they were reduced to ten men within the first 16 minutes after Brighton Munthali was red-carded.
Senegal made their numerical advantage count ten minutes before the break after Pape Gueye broke the deadlock and Sadio Mane doubled the lead for the Lions of Teranga 21 minutes before time.
The floodgates opened two minutes later as Boulaye Dia made it 3-0 for the hosts and Nicolas Jackson made it 4-0 with 13 minutes remaining.
