In news announced by the club on Thursday night, the AFL finalists said left-back Oussama Falouh has passed on following a car accident he was in on 11 October.
The Moroccan footballer had been in a coma since the crash last month and was yet to make an appearance for the club, who progressed past ES Tunis at the semi-final stage of the competition to book their place in the final against Downs.
In a statement released by the club, Wydad extended their "deepest condolences" to the deceased 24-year-old's family.
"Ossama Falouh is in God's memory. With great sadness, the Wydad Athletic Club management office announced the death of the respected player, Oussama Falouh. In this dark hour, Mr. Saïd Naciri, on behalf of himself and all the members of his office, the players, the technical and administrative teams, and all the employees, extends his most sincere and deepest condolences regrets to the family of the deceased, to his loved ones, as well as to all components of the Wydad Athletic Club," the African giants said.
"He prays to Allah Almighty to cover the deceased with His vast mercy, to welcome him into His vast paradise. To Allah we belong and to Him we return."
Wydad are scheduled to take on South Africa's champions in the first leg of their final on 5 November, before the reverse fixture on 11 November.
