Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro has revealed the expectations that have been placed on him by the national team hierarchy at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles are second in Group A after two matches following a draw in their opening match of the tournament in Ivory Coast with Equatorial Guinea and a victory over the host nation in their second.
Currently on four points, Peseiro's men will be hoping to add another three when they take on Guinea-Bissau on Monday evening, though they could also advance to the next stage with a draw.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on the weekend, the Portuguese tactician revealed the objective in his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation is for him to get all the way to 2023 AFCON final.

"I have said I want to win AFCON even though my contract says I should get to the final," he said, according to beIN Sports.
"It would be better to protect myself and not create expectations because if I don't win, it is worse for me.
"But I put my mind and the mind of my players that we want to win."
The 63-year-old also confirmed 23-year-old central midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, who started their first match of the competition, is unavailable through injury.
"He is only having individual training but for tomorrow, he can't play for sure."
The Super Eagles last celebrated an AFCON triumph in 2023, having previously lifted the trophy in 1994 and 1980.
