Ghana head coach Chris Hughton has finally broken his silence after he was allegedly subjected to a heated confrontation by an angry supporter after his side's opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations.
There has been no shortage of drama at the 2023 AFCON, as several continental giants have suffered big upsets already, with the likes of Egypt, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon, and Ghana have all failed to win their opening fixtures of the tournament.
Ghana's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cape Verde has unsurprisingly been one of the standout results so far and the loss sparked significant outrage from the nations' supporters.
One particular incident that has received a lot of coverage is the alleged physical attack on Hughton at the team's hotel following Sunday's game.
A Ghana team official has since dismissed those reports, explaining that the encounter didn't get physical as it it was just a verbal confrontation.

Hughton has remained silent on the matter for several days but with a huge clash against Egypt on the the horizon, the former Brighton Hove Albion boss has finally spoken.
"I very much appreciate the levels of support that I have had but in the press conference here we are looking forward to the next game, so that is something that is very much in the past," Hughton told reporters, according to Ahram Online.
"It has had a lot of media coverage and I am thankful for the messages of support, but today is a day to look forward to a very competitive game we have tomorrow."
Another big question facing the Black Stars coach is the availability of one of their brightest stars Mohammed Kudus, who has contributed nine goals and one assist in all competitions for the Hammers this term.
"Mohammed Kudus joined the camp later than anybody else because of an injury sustained in his last game for West Ham," Hughton said.
"We will continue to assess him. He has trained the last few days but we will make a decision tomorrow."
