Algeria coach Georges Leekens has resigned following the country's early exit from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The North African side were among the favourites to lift the prestigious trophy this year, but having failed to win a match in the group stage, they ended up third in Group B.
The Desert Foxes began their tournament with a draw against Zimbabwe, lost to Tunisia and then drew with Senegal in their final game of this year's competition.
Leekens was appointed for a second spell in charge of Algeria in October – he had previously led the team for four months back in 2003.
"Given the pressure exerted on the federation and the national team, I prefer to stop my contract," the 67-year-old said a statement on the Algerian Football Federation's official website.
"For the good of all, I prefer to leave even if I do it with a sore heart while wishing all the success in the world to the national team."
