Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona played a starring role for Zimbabwe, as they claimed a 3-0 win over Liberia in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Musona stole the show by netting a hat-trick on the day, opening the scoring in the 24th minute before getting his final two strikes in the second half.
Ghana 5-0 Ethiopia Ghana put in a rampant showing, as they romped to a 5-0 win over Ethiopa in their opening qualifying campaign. Asamoah Gyan opened the scoring after 15 minutes before John Boye and Ebenzeer Ofiri made it 3-0 before the break. Raphael Dwamena grabbed a brace in the second half to hand the Black Stars a 5-0 win.
Cape Verde 0-1 Uganda Geofrey Sserunkuma scored the only goal of the game to hand Uganda a 1-0 win over Cape Verde in their opening Afcon qualifier. Benin 1-0 Gambia Benin got their campaign off to a winning start, as they recorded a slim 1-0 win over Gambia on Sunday afternoon. The game's only goal arrived after 58 minutes courtesy of a strike from Stephane Sessegnon.
