The PSL is a Third Tier League by World Standards
By international standards the PSL is a third tier league. South Africa's lowly football world ranking (73) , the countries failure to qualify for major football tournaments and a dearth of South African players in Europe's top four leagues, namely, La Liga, EPL, Serie A and the Bundesliga bears testimony to this fact. That is a sobering fact. The standard of the PSL is at the level of the aforementioned countries third division.
Admittedly, South Africa does have talent but the quality is far and few in between. Bongani Zungu, Lebogang Mothiba, Lyle Foster, Lebogang Phiri, Keagan Dolly, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Thulani Serero, Kermit Erasmus and Luther Singh are the few exceptions. They compete in what is considered Europe's second tier and best feeder leagues.
