Group C
Zimbabwe 2-2 Benin
Benin jumped to the top of Group C after a 2-2 draw with Zimbabwe at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Thursday evening.
Both Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat were named in the starting line-up that also included goalkeeper Washington Arubi, who missed Marumo Gallants' last four matches.
Arubi, however, did not have a great start to the clash as his error by trying to play out the back led to the opening goal, with Steve Mounie taking full advantage and firing home.
Benin doubled their lead Dodo Dokou in the 35th minute, before Zimbabwe pulled a goal back through Marshall Munetsi.
The Warriors were back on level terms in the 59th minute as Musona marked his return to international football with a goal, which ultimately sealed the point.
Zimbabwe remain rooted to the foot of the group, while South Africa and Rwanda both have the chance to move top on Friday should they beat Lesotho and Nigeria respectively.
Group G
Mozambique 3-1 Uganda
Mozambique moved to the top of the group with a 3-1 victory over Uganda on Thursday afternoon.
The hosts raced into a third-minute lead through Pepo's strike, before Muhammad Shaban restored parity for Uganda on seven minutes.
Pepo and Stanley Ratifo put the home side 3-1 up before the break, while the Cranes also had Denis Omedi sent off in the first half.
Group H
Malawi 0-1 Namibia
Namibia gave themselves a boost in the hunt for a World Cup spot after defeating Malawi 1-0 on Thursday evening.
The Brave Warriors got the opening goal five minutes before the halftime break, with Prins Tjiueza finding the back of the net after being set up by Peter Shalulile.
The win sees Namibia move up to second spot in Group H, three points behind leaders Tunisia.
