Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro scored a brace for his side, Greenville Triumph, just hours after the club's new co-owner Ronaldinho confirmed big plans.
Ronaldinho attended the ceremonial groundbreaking of Greenville Triumph's new stadium in Mauldin on Wednesday.
The Brazilian icon joined the club's ownership group in October 2024, and on Wednesday, he ceremoniously held a shovel in front of hundreds of supporters to announce the beginning of construction work for their new multi-purpose venue.

"This stadium will be a place of dreams, where young boys and girls can come to watch their heroes and compete on the field. I am proud to be part of this project, and I promise to support this club and the community, helping to make those dreams a reality," said the 2005 Ballon d'Or award winner, according to American news network NBC.
Just hours after the ceremony, Greenville played against Union Omaha in the USL League One, the third tier of football in the United States.
Adding to the celebratory mood around the club, Greenville claimed a comprehensive 3-0 win over their opponents, with Castro stealing the show.
Castro opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a stunning lob over the opposition goalkeeper, who was off his line.
Greenville went into half-time with a 2-0 lead after Benjamin Zakowski added a second before the break.
Just a few minutes into the second half, Castro got his brace after converting a header to give his team a 3-0 lead.
The 35-year-old now has two goals and one assist in his opening two league matches this season, according to Transfermarkt.
The Colombian joined Greenville in 2023, and in December 2024, he penned a one-year contract extension, which runs until the end of 2025.
