According to WinWin, Pyramids have asked the Egyptian Football Association to bring in foreign referees for their looming matches against the Red Devils and the White Knights.
This season, the Egyptian Premier League introduced a new format to the competition. After taking part in the initial round-robin phase, the league will now be split into two.
The clubs that finished in the top nine of the traditional league phase will now play in a league of their own to decide the champions, while the other nine clubs will face off to determine which two outfits are demoted to the second division.
The request to have foreign referees oversee massive fixtures within Egyptian football is not uncommon, as European officials often adjudicate the Cairo derby.
Pyramids have had a phenomenal campaign so far, as they finished the first stage of the league at the top of the table with 42 points and will be hoping that their good form continues as they look to capture their first-ever title.
It seems they feel their best chance of achieving this goal is by having foreign referees officiate their next matches against Zamalek and Ahly. They first play Marcel Koller's charges on 12 April before facing Jose Peseiro's men on 13 May.

The same report alleges that any club wishing to have a non-Egyptian official officiate their matches needs to make the request 15 days in advance.
