The Siya crew has been led to believe that Mamelodi Sundowns are going to exercise the option on one of their midfielders who is currently out on loan, with Kaizer Chiefs understood to be open to signing him.
Sundowns have a number of contracts coming to an end in June and one of them is attacking midfielder Sipho Mbule, who is currently on loan at Sekhukhune United.

When Mbule joined Sekhukhune, former Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi said that he believed that the midfielder still has a future at Chloorkop. Indications are that the club is looking at extending the deal by triggering the option they have.
It's unclear, though, if Mbule will form part of the team next season under Miguel Cardoso, but exercising the option in Mbule's contract does give the Chloorkop outfit an advantage going forward.
It would mean that Sundowns don't lose the player for free, so anyone who wants him permanently would have to pay a transfer fee. Extending the contract also gives Sundowns an opportunity to use Mbule in any deals that they are looking at securing, as they have in the past with swap deals.

Mbule has been in good form at Sekhukhune, rediscovering his form after a difficult pre-season which saw him spending time recovering from injury. His performances are believed to have raised the eyebrows of other clubs who are monitoring his situation. Sekhukhune, it's believed, are interested in keeping Mbule while Soweto giants Chiefs are understood to be sniffing around.
The Siya crew has been informed that Sundowns have until the end of May to indicate whether or not they are exercising the option in the former SuperSport United player's contract.
