Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Sesane's injury appears to be more serious than first expected, with the indications that he could be sidelined for the rest of the season.
Sesane picked up the injury during Pirates' 2-1 victory over Sekhukhune United three weeks ago.

The centre-back was forced off the field in the opening 20 minutes of the match after suffering a ruptured tendon injury.
Following the game, he was spotted using crutches and wearing a foot support brace, raising concerns about the amount of time he would spend out of action.
Initially, the club had hoped for a quicker return, but with Bucs confirming that the 24-year-old requires surgery, the reality of his long-term absence has set in.
Recovery from a ruptured tendon can take anywhere from four to six months, meaning Sesane is unlikely to return before the season concludes.
This is a major blow for Pirates, who are still competing on multiple fronts, including the DStv Premiership, the Nedbank Cup, and the CAF Champions League.
Sesane has been a crucial part of the squad, making 29 appearances across all competitions and contributing to several clean sheets.
His performances even earned him a call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad.

With Sesane now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Pirates will have to adjust their defensive plans as they push for success in the crucial months ahead.
"It's (Sesane's injury) more like that of (Olisa) Ndah. He is likely to be out for around the same time. It could be up to the end of the season, but the good thing is that he is doing well in his recovery," said the source.
